can’t even get an ‘intern’ job!

so i just found out today that i didn’t get the ‘intern’ job i applied for. it was for the local summer art festival; i know you are thinking small time, but its actually ranked in the top five nationally { http://bit.ly/cfga } . apparenty there were ‘many qualified’ applicants for the available spots. the job description was a variety of tasks including, filing, putting together press packets, organizing vendors and then the actual set up and logistics for the event.

not sure where i went wrong. i thought the interview went well? i’m a genuine person and feel that my communication reflects that aspect? maybe it wasn’t a plus that i was acquainted with the people interviewing and planning the event? i know i’m more mature than the traditional ‘intern’ ….i thought that wasn’t a bad thing?

oh well! i’ve got my ‘survival’ job and facebook to keep me occupied!

Clearly, they are the ones with the hang-ups. My educated and experienced guess is that they were younger than you, with less experience than you, and, thus, intimidated by you. You could perform all of the tasks that you listed and more with your eyes closed or even hung-over, all while delegating the work of those around you in order to get the job done. They know that and you know that. They just couldn’t handle it.
